Dr. Lorrette Ayers, LCSW, Ph.D., CCTP

Dr. Lorrette Ayers specializes in the treatment of grief and loss, coping with chronic illness and pain, caregiver support, trauma, depression and anxiety disorders and relationship and life transitions. Dr. Ayers also specializes in work with helping professionals, addressing compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and burnout. She works with both children, teens and adults, providing both individual and group therapies. Dr. Ayers utilizes an eclectic approach to her work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential and Meaning Centered Therapy, Solution Focused, Humanistic and Mindfulness based therapies. She received her Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in Maryland, her Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City, and her Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision from Neumann University in Aston, PA. She is a Licensed Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Dr. Ayers holds multiple certifications in trauma informed care as well as the integration of mental health and spirituality. Throughout her career, she has worked in the medical field and in both community and private sectors. Dr. Ayers volunteers as a Disaster Mental Health Manager with the American Red Cross and has traveled throughout the United States assisting survivors of natural and human caused disasters.
