Summary :
Many African American and Latin American young men are being reared without healthy male role models in their lives to teach them lessons on self confidence, healthy identity, personal accountability, leadership training, mental health, life's skills, sexuality, financial literacy and so much more.
Gordon Palmer, a youth life coach is partnering with Restorative Family Services LLC to provide monthly groups for young African American and Latin American adolescents ages 13-17 years old.
Here are some of the monthly group activities.

- Anger Management
- Culture & Heritage
- How to deal with the police
- Relationships
- Communication skills
- Social media
- Financial literacy
- Mindset/Spirituality
- Man in the Mirror/Self Confidence
Each group will begin with a check-in with each member and then the theme of the session will be discussed using interactive discussions, games, demonstration, hands on assignments and more.
Each session is 60 minutes.
These sessions are designed to initiate discussion and to challenge the thought process of the young men involved in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Gordon Palmer, MSW
Meet Gordon Palmer, a youth and adolescent mentor. Gordon has a Master's Degree in Social Work and currently works as an Assistant Principal of k-8 students in NJ. Gordon has a passion to serve, educate and lead young African American males on their journey toward success. Gordon also spends time helping others develop spiritually in his work as an Assistant Minister for the last 6 years. When asked why he wants to mentor young African American young men, Gordon shared he really wants to help young men tap into their identity and discover who they are and how to navigate social and mental barriers that prevent them from excelling.
Gordon is a loving husband and father of four children ranging in age from 3 years- 22 years old. Gordon is also an entrepreneur and operates his own First Aid and CPR training company.
